I got seriously into photography when I arrived in China for a year-long stay. I was using a Sony DSC-H50 camera at the time, not too shabby, but all my pictures were turning out like crap when I used the automatic settings. I decided I didn’t want to spend a whole year w/nothing to show for it but crappy pictures, so I started teaching myself about aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and the like in order to use my camera’s manual settings.
When I returned to Austin in 2009 I decided to get more serious about photography and purchashed a dSLR. I’ve been on a tear ever since
